Five year olds can create on a canvas with just a paintbrush, but a student in 6th grade has a full set of bitmap and vector graphics, word processing tools, and media import functions. Choices and functions are designed to be appropriate for school use, and the program looks and works in a different manner, depending upon who is using it. Canvastic is a great tool to help students and teachers meet district and state standards in many areas of the curriculum. A great alternative to Kid Pix for Mac OSX Leopard users, it fully supports Win2000/XP/Vista/Win7 and Mac OSX 10.3 or higher, including Intel, 10.4 and 10.5.
